Erica Baker, MS, LPC, LPC-S, CGT, CMIP, is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Supervisor based in Virginia.

I am the Owner and CEO of Erica Baker & Associates Counseling Services, LLC. A Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Virginia, a Certified Grief Therapist (CGT), and a Certified Mindfulness Informed Therapist (CMIP) with 31 years of experience. My work spans private practice, assisted living, in-home counseling, group homes, and independent living, supporting clients of all ages through life’s challenges and transitions.

I specializes in grief therapy and provides supervision for residents in training, supporting the next generation of mental health professionals.

In addition to her clinical work, I am an active NAMI member and collaborates with Newport News Criminal Court Behavioral Health Dockets. I work closely with the court system and community members who are unable to stand trial, helping to bridge the gap between mental health and the justice system.

Throughout my career, I’ve specialized in trauma recovery, anxiety, depression, grief, and skill-building for autonomy and resilience. I use a blend of cognitive-behavioral therapy, mindfulness, grief counseling, and family systems approaches to tailor treatment for individuals, families, and groups.

As owner of Erica Baker & Associates Counseling Services, I lead a team that provides outpatient therapy, case management, and community outreach. I also run Nehemiah House, a residential program for men with mental health needs, and serve as a Licensed Clinical Supervisor, mentoring other clinicians in ethical, high-quality care.

Having survived breast cancer twice, I bring both personal and professional insight to my mindfulness-based therapy for survivors, blending meditation, breathwork, and somatic practices for healing and adjustment.

My approach is collaborative and client-centered, focused on building resilience, self-awareness, healthy relationships, and lasting coping skills. I stay current by regularly attending advanced trainings and conferences.

If you’re looking for a compassionate, experienced counselor to support your journey, I welcome you to reach out for a consultation.
