Erica Baker, MS, LPC, LPC-S, CGT, CMIP, is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Supervisor based in Virginia with 31 years of experience. As Owner and CEO of Erica Baker & Associates Counseling Services, LLC, she is a Certified Grief Therapist (CGT) and Certified Mindfulness Informed Therapist (CMIP) whose work spans private practice, assisted living, in-home counseling, group homes, and independent living — supporting clients of all ages through life’s challenges and transitions. Erica specializes in grief therapy and provides clinical supervision for residents in training, supporting the next generation of mental health professionals. She is an active NAMI member and collaborates with Newport News Criminal Court Behavioral Health Dockets, helping bridge the gap between mental health and the justice system. Throughout her career, Erica has specialized in trauma recovery, anxiety, depression, grief, and skill-building for autonomy and resilience, using a blend of cognitive-behavioral therapy, mindfulness, grief counseling, and family systems approaches. She also leads Nehemiah House, a residential program for men with mental health needs. Having survived breast cancer twice, Erica brings both personal and professional insight to her mindfulness-based therapy for survivors, blending meditation, breathwork, and somatic practices for healing. Her approach is collaborative and client-centered, focused on building resilience, self-awareness, healthy relationships, and lasting coping skills.

Kristine has been working at Erica Baker & Associates since January 2023, when she started her field experience as a counselor. Before starting her graduate program in counseling, she earned a Master's in Cyber Security, a Bachelor's in Cloud Computing, and a Bachelor's in English with a minor in Psychology. Kristine specializes in grief, trauma, and crisis counseling, but she has worked with clients individually, including kids, families, and couples.

Dr. Richmond served in the United States Air Force as Deputy Chief of the Medical Staff and Medical Director of multiple mental health clinics, earning the Meritorious Service Medal. In the civilian sector, he has held executive roles including Chief Medical Director at MiraVista Behavioral Health Center. He is also a speaker, educator, author, and leadership coach. Dr. Richmond is currently accepting new telehealth appointments, bringing accessible, evidence-based psychiatric care directly to our patients.

Erica Baker & Associates Counseling Services is proud to welcome Dr. Kenneth Richmond, MD, MSOL — a distinguished psychiatrist, Air Force veteran, and Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association — to our practice. Dr. Richmond brings over 15 years of expertise in inpatient, outpatient, and telepsychiatry, expanding our ability to provide comprehensive, accessible behavioral health care to our community.
He is currently accepting new telehealth appointments, bringing evidence-based psychiatric care directly to patients across Virginia.
